Most people think crystals are just pretty objects. Then they watch their dog walk past a dozen of them and stop at the same one every single time.
It happens more than you’d expect. Dogs gravitate toward specific stones. Ignoring others completely. Coming back to the same crystal again and again. Nobody has a perfect explanation for it.
I did this with my dog, Henry. I was shocked at what happened. Here’s what might actually be going on and what your own dog might surprise you with if you give them the chance to choose.
Budget Tip:
You will be shocked at the price of a small healing crystal. Henry's his first crystal was $.25. Heck, you can find that hidden in your couch. I don't think I've paid over $1.25 for any of Henry's stones. So, while all his healing crystals are pretty and the process is fun, it doesn't break the bank either. This is a fun activity and if it helps Henry or me in any way then that's a major win-win!
A little crystal shop

Exploring an anecdotal study is a great place to begin. Besides, I’m very familiar with this particular study.
One day Henry, my dog, and I were on a walk and found a little crystal shop.
Henry was intrigued. So was I. The shop owner, Jeanette, invited us to explore.
Inside the front door was a huge turnstile loaded with various healing crystals. We slowly walked around it. Henry began bouncing like a bean, trying to see each one.
I picked him up.
He’d lean over trying to see certain crystals. I pick up each crystal of interest and let him inspect each . We did this all the way around the display until he found one he seemed to like.
It was Dalmatian Jasper. The one he liked was red with black spots. He was content as if his mission was accomplished.
Jeannette handed me a piece of paper. It had the “ healing stone meaning” of Dalmatian Jasper. One of the first ones listed was protection from nightmares.
Interestingly, I had recently adopted Henry. I would wake him up daily from a crying sleep. It always seemed as if he was experiencing a nightmare.
However, even more interesting, since we acquired this Dalmatian Jasper gem, he rarely has a nightmare. Interesting, huh? Keep in mind that there is no placebo effect with dogs. Although there could be a caregiver placebo effect, it’s highly unlikely with nightmares.

Healing crystals for dogs continues…

Henry and I have visited Jeanette’s shop many times since this initial stop.
Each time, I let Henry pick out his own healing crystals.
Jeanette always provides a paper with the “crystal meaning” or attributes of the healing stone.
Surprisingly every time it relates to something significant either Henry or me.
What does this mean?
Maybe nothing?
Or perhaps Henry’s picking up on the crystals’ vibrational frequency?

Some healing crystals

Some of the healing crystals Henry’s picked out include:
Blue Lace Agate (The Peacemaker) – gives confidence and improves communications
Goldstone – reduces stomach tensions
Peacock Copper – relieves stress and enables happiness
Hematite or Black Diamond – boosts self-esteem
Moss Agate (2) – improves strength and energy
Green Calcite – heals bones, ligaments, and arthritis
Green Quartz – improves communications
Dalmatian Jasper – protection from nightmares, depression, and negativity
Note: This isn’t an exhaustive list of these crystal healing attributes.
These crystals were all selected when Henry was newly adopted or taking classes.
Do the crystals work?
Since there is no placebo effect in pets or animals, Henry’s results are even more interesting.
Henry always seems to select crystals very specific and the healing properties of each amazes me.
Surprisingly, I have noticed a marked improvement with each crystal. Perhaps I was more focused on the attributes. But all the same, it is interesting.
Combining healing crystals and meditation

I feel like I’m a lot more grounded and my meditations are more effective when I meditate with Henry and healing crystals at my side.
Henry certainly does like his gemstones. However, when he’s done with them, he’s done. It’s as if he’s received what it has to offer and he’s ready for a new healing crystal.
TIP: While Henry only looks or sniffs the crystals, be careful with your dog and small stones. I also only allow him to inspect his gems when I’m with him. They could be a choking hazard.
Another way to use healing crystals for dogs

People have found it useful to place a crystal (with the appropriate healing stone meaning) in their dog’s bed. However, I would recommend either sewing it into the bed or attaching it permanently in another way to avoid choking.
Additionally, I’ve even used a to massage Henry. It’s a sort of but also saves on my hands. Any kind of larger can be used for your dog’s .
Moreover, the size of the stone will depend on your dog’s size. A larger crystal is better for a larger dog while a smaller one will work best for smaller dogs.
Also, you can also select a for your dog’s needs. Such as one that would help with , , , or whatever your dog’s or issues are of concern.
Can my dog pick healing crystals?

Yes! While I think Henry’s great at selecting specific gemstones, he’s not the only rock hound around.
You can check your dog’s reaction to crystals and healing abilities. It’s simple!
If you have crystals, hold them out to your dog individually and see which one(s) receive a positive reaction.
You may be surprised.
It’s a fun activity and one that can benefit both your dog and you. It certainly won’t hurt your dog as long as you monitor your pup inspection of his/her stones.

Is that doggie a rock hound for healing crystals?
I’m amazed at how Henry has responded to crystals just as the attributes indicated. For him, it seems each has a unique . Why I’m not entirely sure. But they seem to help him.
Additionally, there are no side effects with healing crystals, like traditional medication. Of course, if you or your dog are sick, always seek medical attention. This is simply a fun activity to do with your dog.
